Cyclocross
Cyclocross (CX) is a unique discipline of cycling that is best described as a mix between road cycling, mountain biking and steeplechase. Cyclists race on mixed terrain, dismounting their bikes to run up stairs and steep embankments, jumping barriers, and navigating other obstacles. Races are on short courses and are typically 30-60 minutes of speed and fun.
The atmosphere of a CX race revolves around camaraderie. A true cross racer gets their energy from the cheering spectators, doughnut handups, and crazy costumes. There is plenty of racing around Seattle and the Pacific Northwest from promoters such as MFG, WSBA and OBRA. Check out our calendar for racing opportunities!
